I recently had the pleasure of creating a pair of personalised wood-burned coasters for a lovely customer local to Dorking — a special gift for her friends getting married. 🐓🐔 🤍

One features a proud cockerel, the other a sweet hen, each with “Mr” and “Mrs” beneath. These detailed little pieces were such a joy to bring to life, and I hope they bring a smile to the happy couple as they start this new and exciting chapter together. 💍❤️

A lot of my woodwork pieces are inspired by this beautiful place — the rolling hills, the quiet corners, and the overall sense of peace and creativity that Dorking brings. 💫

There’s something about this town that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the little things. Bumping into friends on a walk or chatting to a stranger in the shop — it’s all part of the charm. ❤️

🌟 Pippfest today was absolutely incredible! 😍🤯 It was hands down the BEST market I’ve ever done! So many wonderful moments and connections made.

I’m beyond thrilled to have sold my big Denbies piece to a lovely couple who recently got married at Denbies – how special is that?! It was so meaningful for them, and I’m so happy it’s going to such a perfect home. 🥂✨

Also sold lots of little bits, handed out heaps of cards for potential commissions, and received so many lovely compliments. Feeling so grateful for all the support! 💖

It was also lovely meeting new stallholders and really feeling that Dorking community spirit. There’s nothing like that sense of connection! ✨
I’m totally knackered now but SO proud of today’s success. Huge thanks to my partner who helped out 🥰❤️– the wind was a real character today, and our gazebo almost flew away a couple of times! 😂 But we survived and thrived!

He was creating a stunning oak and shimmery ✨ 🌊 resin board for a couple, and reached out to me to add a personalised woodburned inscription featuring their initials and meaningful dates.

I was almost tricked by a very convincing phishing message that came through my Heartwood Crafting Wix site’s inbox. It looked completely legit, using professional language and formatting, but Wix confirmed it was a fake. It wasn’t from them or any official partner—it was someone impersonating Wix to try and steal sensitive information. These scams rely on fear tactics, making false claims about SEO, security, or compliance to pressure you into acting fast.

Even though sales were a bit slow, it was still 100% worth it to chat with some young folks about my craft, share why I love it, and encourage a little creativity along the way. 🛠️💬
Big thanks to everyone who stopped by, showed some love, or just admired the wood (you’ve got great taste 😄). Also, side note, I couldn’t resist and ended up buying the most beautiful wooden acorn earrings from @molevalleymaker. Completely obsessed with them! 🍂✨ Lovely to catch up with familiar faces among the other stallholders too!! 💛

Tried something a little different with this wood burning piece—pointillism! Thousands of tiny dots, one burn at a time. Definitely tested my patience, but I really enjoyed the process and I’m so happy with how it turned out. 🐈‍⬛🌙✨⭐️🌟💫🤩Always fun stepping out of the comfort zone and pushing my creativity in new ways.

Just completed this custom pyrography piece featuring the quote:
“Counting every blessing, letting go and trusting, when I cannot see.”
I really enjoyed taking a more experimental approach—burning the background instead of the text itself, using negative space to let the message quietly stand on its own.
Negative space in art is often the part we don’t focus on at first—but it shapes everything. It’s the silence that gives words their weight, and the space that helps the subject breathe. That felt especially fitting for this quote, which is all about trust, stillness, and unseen strength!❤️‍🔥

Last night we had the absolute pleasure of joining the first BBQ of the year at Jon and Mums – Westcott Hub, and wow… what a turnout! The energy, the food (so good!), the fresh renovations – it all came together in the most heartwarming way.

Westcott Hub has grown from a humble veg box delivery service into a thriving refill store, café, and creative community space – and it’s all thanks to the incredible, hardworking team behind it. The crew at Jon and Mums pour so much heart into everything they do, from fresh home-cooked meals to the warmest of welcomes, and it truly shows. 💚

It had a bit of a soft launch initially, and a few tweaks were made, but I am super happy with how it’s turned out and proud to share it with everyone! 🤗😁
It primarily acts as a platform to show my range of previous commissions , and a space to contact me for future ones! 🥰🤗🔥🪵 I hope you enjoy reading my blog posts , more about my journey, and hopefully feel inspired!
